2016 has been a remarkable year of growth for ImprovingMIPractices!
We now have close to 10,000 accounts on the website, and we’d like to thank all of our users for their ongoing interest and support for the IMP project. As we continue to expand and enhance the offerings of the site, please remember to contact us with your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. Many of the improvements to ImprovingMIPractices in recent years has been a direct result of detailed input from users like you.
The majority of IMP’s 80+ credit-bearing courses are organized by Practice Area under “Courses & Resources” or by Population. New courses are added regularly, so be sure to check your preferred practice area often. In addition to ongoing new course development, the IMP site has recently acquired hundreds of additional supplemental courses which are being added to various practice areas and populations by the end of the calendar year.
Another thing that’s being moved out of “beta” this month is the improved transcript system, which allows all site users the ability to track their progress on courses site-wide, and even upload previously-earned certificates from other sources. In addition, supervisors are able to assign courses to their team and monitor staff progress. This function will be rolled out in phases through November, with all users able to access the new functionality by the end of the upcoming month.
Finally, be sure to check out improvements on the public side as well, including new information under Practices and Populations. The public side of IMP is particularly useful for outreach to the wider community of Michigan residents who are served by mental and behavioral health professionals, and provide links to additional resources that help our residents understand the services and care available for themselves and loved ones.
Once again, thank you for using ImprovingMIPractices, and we look forward to being partners in your behavioral health successes.
Motivational Interviewing for Supervisors
In recent years, the 20 Motivational Interviewing courses have been IMP’s most well-attended offerings, generating thousands of CEUs for our users.
Now, the same content expert and course designer have collaborated on five additional courses for a series entitled Motivational Interviewing for Supervisors. The five courses in this series are:
Lesson One: Successful Implementation and Sustainability
Lesson Two: Modeling and Demonstrating MI for Staff
Lesson Three: Assessing Core MI Skills (Two Parts)
Lesson Four: Coaching Key Skills
Lesson Five: Introduction to Coding MI
Each course provides 1 credit hour (MI-CEC, MCBAP Specific) and is available for self-enrollment.
