Career Mentor Link matches professionals with students, providing an opportunity for students to benefit from the industry knowledge and career experience of their mentors.
This one-on-one mentoring program is run in conjunction with faculties and aims to:

  • provide students with an industry perspective to enhance their academic learning;
  • prepare students for transition to the workplace;
  • support students in developing skills to manage their career; and
  • establish mutually beneficial relationships between industry, the University and its students.

President's Address

Greetings Ladles and Jellyspoons,
By now all of you should be used the rhythm of Uni, realised eating Subway everyday is probably not the best pastime and probably realised coming into Uni and mingling is better than staying at home watching lectures online!
Moving on to what’s happened and is coming up; We had a pretty chill time at ‘Quads On Point’ last week followed by a darn good sundowner! Cheers to everyone who trotted along! We ran out of ‘softies’…. Twice! You’re all wonderful humans!
Although we did not place first, we did some glorious ass-kicking with Basketball and Squash for Interfac these first two weeks! We’ve got Paddling coming up next week, so if you know how to stay afloat in the Swan River, let us know on our Interfac Sport Facebook page here.
Next week we have a pretty full on week! Fresher Speed Dating is on Tuesday, so get ready to find the person of your dreams and get horrifically friend-zoned by them. Wednesday is our ‘Find the Chicken Pub Crawl’. If you enjoy finding yellow cocks, like going walkabout while indulging in beautiful softies, or even just meeting a new bunch of people, this event will be up your alley!
Finally on Thursday around 4:30pm, we will have our Fresher Elections! We’ll be teaming up with EMAS and providing sweet beats, softies and 6/10 fresher election banter! Heads up: you can do a stunt to prove yourself but ultimately mingling with us and coming to our events is more effective, jus-sayin! Applications for Fresher Rep are available here.
As always, if you have any problem with Uni life, please don’t hesitate to flick me an email,! Alternatively, if you think you’re a funny bugger, send me your best joke!
Good luck & I look forward to seeing six friendly new faces on committee,

Thomas Wimmler

So far, Weizmann Australia has sent ten students to attend the International Summer Science Program (ISSI) over the last 4 years and will send another two this year, to join with 90 talented pre and first year science students from around the world. Full program fees, accommodation and board (to the approximate value of $7500) plus an additional approximate $2500 towards travel costs to Israel are covered by the scholarship.
This scholarship is open for applications until April 8th.
Further details and how to apply can be found here.
Weizmann Australia represents the Weizmann Institute of Science here in Australia. One of our aims is to inspire the next generation of Australian scientists and the Weizmann Australia ISSI Scholarship will help achieve that.
