Welcome to Semester 2, 2015

President's Address

Welcome back to university for semester two! I know the break was over too soon, particularly for those of you who managed to get away to Europe, which seemed to be half of Perth.
This semester, returning after a hiatus, will be the Science Union newsletter. This is a fortnightly report which will be published so you know what we are doing! If there is any event we run that you may wish to attend then you will be aware of it.
Over break we’ve been planning some exciting events for your welfare, careers, education and social life. I’m definitely most excited for our Celestial Ball on 25th September!
I look forward to seeing you around,
Alex Tsaknis
President

Your Career in Teaching

Teach for Australia

Teach For Australia is one of Australia’s fastest growing not-for-profits, and their aim is to address one of Australia's most pressing social issues - educational disadvantage. TFA is a graduate program for driven graduates from all degree areas who commit to teaching in a challenging, educationally disadvantaged school for at least two years. During this time they receive full salary and benefits, while earning their Masters on scholarship. As well as providing graduates with a world-class teacher education, the Teach For Australia program is acutely focused on developing our future leaders.

Teach for Australia is exclusively looking for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Graduates.

The Round 2 deadline for 2015 applications is August 23. For more information please see their Facebook page and check out all the information sessions and networking opportunities here.
