President's Address

Hi everyone!
Welcome to the beginning of Semester 1, 2017!
For the returners of Science Union, we welcome you back with open arms. To those of you who are in the new ‘So-Fresh of 2017’ squad, GDay and good on you!

It’s only February and you’ve already made one of the best decisions you could make this year. We have a few cool things coming up to make your year even better. Some are FREE.
We have Parties, Doggo gatho’s, FREE Study Nights and CAMP!

Personally, I can’t recommend camp enough. We have so much awesome stuff jammed into three days of action. If you need some more free encouragement as to why camp will be so much fun, come to our sundowner Tuesday night at the beloved Matilda Bay Goonzebo. You’ll have everything you could want and more, at the price of your attendance only! Remember to get your tickets to our annual party Hyper 2017 – we sold out our pre-sales on O-Day and they will be going even quicker at CLUB CARNIVAL on the 7th of March. Be sure to get in before you miss out.

That’s all for this week. If you see me around come up and say hi! I spend most of my time achieving nothing in bottom floor of Reid library.
Failing that, feel free to hit me up with a cheeky email:

For the 7th time Hyperscience will be allowing you to dance the night away, with your ticket giving you access to:

Student Priced Drinks - our lovely friends at Tav are giving us a hand for the refreshments for all of you who might be a bit dehydrated from all that hardcore dancing; and a guaranteed ultra mega spectacular time for couple of hours!

We will also set up a a BBQ Sausage Sizzle at a very cheap price with all the proceeds going to Relay For Life!

Tickets are: $15 for Members and $20 for Non-members
Tickets will be sold both physically on Oak Lawn (come see us at the Club Carnival on the 7th of March) or purchase them online.

Along with your best rave outfit, we encourage you to wear any UWA labcoat you might have lying around, as it is a tradition for Hyperscience!

Volunteering

If you are interesting in volunteering this semester with Science Union. Join us on Facebook or contact our volunteering coordinator Laney Kunum on 21492686@student.uwa.edu.au

Fresher Elections

If you think joining the Science Union Committee might be for you then we encourage you to run for one of our 2017 Fresher Representative positions. Elections will be held at a sundowner on the 21st of March so you've got plenty of time to think about it and ask committee about what the position entails and why it will be one of the best decisions of your life.

Sports
Science Union regularly organises social and interfaculty sports.

Interfaculty sport is as described..sport in which Science Union competes against other faculties. This makes for an altogether fun and competitive affair. It's on every Wednesday from 12-3 and we play a different sport each week so come join us this Wednesday for Basketball and defend our pride. (Request to join Science Interfaculty Sports 2017! on Facebook)

Social Sports are a weekly competition where you play your chosen sport on a regular evening (eg. every Monday is frisbee) with a team from the Science Union. It's a great way to get to know a group of people, get some exercise and have some fun. Contact our sport reps to express interest in mixed netball, 5-aside soccer or frisbee.

If you're interested in sport contact Lauren Sabbagah (21721284@student.uwa.edu.au) or Shindani Moor (21683377@student.uwa.edu.au)
