Welcome to week six!
I'm sure you've all been caught in the full-on last few weeks. A mixture of PROSH, Camp, Mexicana and Hyper... How is anyone still standing?

We've had a BIG few weeks and a few more big weeks coming up. Get excited, because Science Union is still pumping out the best events on campus for you.

Tuesday is CAREERS FAIR! It's FREE!
No matter how far through you are through your degree, a job is always going to be ideal. This will be your best chance at securing one!

Learn about what skills you need to break into your field; and maybe even meet your employers. Personally, i've been working on wrangling Perth Zoo to rock up and bring some cool animals. Let's hope they commit.

We also have our Dance workshop coming up. It's definitely a favourite of mine and is a great opportunity to learn some sweet moves and meet the (dance) partner of your dreams. Tickets are cheap as so make sure you check it out.

Until then, stay happy and keep on top of your studies. Assignments etc. are starting up and it's going to get pretty hectic. Keep focused and you'll pull through.

I hope you've had an amazing few weeks. Make sure to say hi if you see me around!

Here are some happy snaps from our wonderful weekend away on the Science Union Fresher Camp. Thank you to committee past and present who put their hearts and souls into making this happen and to all the fabulous freshers who joined us for what was a splendid weekend of singing, dancing and team building.

UWA Science Union Presents: Careers Fair
12pm-2pm - 4th April
Whitfeld Court

Ever wondered what comes after university? Hopefully something other than working part time teaching swimming, making coffee or stacking shelves at your local Woolworths.

Tuesday is your chance to mingle with Teach for Australia, Bloom, Chemcentre, Kelly Scientific Resources and Australian Insatiate of Physics to find out about exciting graduate and internship opportunities, and maybe even have a sneaky bite to eat.
12:30pm-2:30pm, 5th April

You've probably done a lot already this semester. Maybe too much - if you think you're falling behind come down to the Circle in Reid on Wednesday 5th of April to catch up on some of your units.

It's free, we'll will provide you some snacks and some tutors for science and STEM units will be there to help you out.

If you're planning on heading down, shoot the page a message with units that your particularly concerned about and we'll make sure we try and get someone down to give you a hand.
6pm-8pm, 11th April

Hey movers and shakers, Science Union and Dance UWA are collaborating again for their annual event: Dance Workshop!
Whether you're an expert dancer or can barely move your limbs to a rhythm (guilty) come down to practise some simple latin american and ballroom steps and meet some new people.

Don't have a partner? Don't worry! We'll be swapping partners more than a swingers party.
Get hungry when you dance your butt off? You're in luck, we will be providing more snacks and cordial than an 6 year old's birthday to keep your energy levels sky high.

Starting Monday, 12-2pm on Oak Lawn or online.
$10 members, $15 non-members of Science Union OR Dance UWA
We would like to welcome our newly elected Fresher Representatives who helped us run Hyperscience last Friday, their first event as committee members. A massive congratulations to:

If you are interesting in volunteering this semester with Science Union. Join us on Facebook or contact our volunteering coordinator Laney Kunum on

Science Union regularly organises social and interfaculty sports.

Interfaculty sport is as in which Science Union competes against other faculties. This makes for an altogether fun and competitive affair. It's on every Wednesday from 12-3 and we play a different sport each week so come join us this Wednesday for Basketball and defend our pride. (Request to join Science Interfaculty Sports 2017! on Facebook)

Social Sports are a weekly competition where you play your chosen sport on a regular evening (eg. every Monday is frisbee) with a team from the Science Union. It's a great way to get to know a group of people, get some exercise and have some fun. Contact our sport reps to express interest in mixed netball, 5-aside soccer or frisbee.

If you're interested in sport contact Lauren Sabbagah ( or Shindani Moor (
