Hi Ing,I just can't believe the leaps and bounds that we are making with this project.

What started as just a bit of a dream to help out continues to grow because of the support that we have continued to receive from not only the Rotary E-Club of NextGen and the Rotary Club of Ashmore but also so many volunteers from so many walks of life that are truly appreciated. .

And each and everyone of you that contributes make a huge difference - whether it is help with the organization of the project, financial support or hands on sewing and cutting at our sewing days and between them as well.

It is amazing and there is so much happening you all should be proud of the part that you play.

The big news is that we have been really lucky to be awarded a grant by Rotary District 9640 of $1,000 that is also to be matched by the E-Club and used to supply 200 kits to Vanuatu by the end of the year. This is such fantastic news and will cover the cost of all materials and we will be really focusing on this over the next 4 months. This will require a big effort so if you can help, please let us know.

The timing is great because this will be our aim over the next two sewing days as we do everything that needs to be completed to have 200 kits ready by the end of the year. There will be so much work to do with cutting, sewing, press stud finishing, packing and even a bit of ironing so if you can help out, it will make a huge difference.

We also have another 100 kits going on the YWAMS Ship to Papua and New Guinea and Annette & Doug Robbins will deliver those to Townsville this month.

Sewing and Packing Day

Saturday 13th August

9.00 am - 1.00 pm

Trinity Lutheran Junior Campus, Cotlew Street, Ashmore

We have lots of shields and bags to make kits but really need liners. If you have an overlocker, please bring it along on Saturday or collect some flannelette to sew at home.

The good work of the projects has continued since the last update with another 52 kits off to Vanuatu and another 40  heading off last week to Heartprint House in Siem Reap Cambodia. The tally so far in less than a year is 269 kits - 109 to Vanuatu, 60 to Cambodia and 100 to Timor Leste.

As you know, this project is run through the E-Club but it's great to see so much support also coming from the Ashmore Club and we have some exciting initiatives being planned at the moment as joint projects.

It's a great reflection on both clubs.

Just on Ashmore club, they have organized a Fashion Parade with all proceeds going to Days for Girls Gold Coast Team. Information is shown below but I would love to have you along to help fund-raise. Tickets are only $5 and it will be great to catch up and spoil yourself at the same time.

Is it worth it?
