Do you have all 3? If not which one's missing?

Not sure? Try using the highlight function in Word. Go through sentence by sentence and highlight: action, description, dialogue.

Connect with other Kansas City Writers!

A few places you can connect with fellow scribes this month:

  • Kansas City Writers Group.  A friendly critique group that meets Thursdays from 10:20 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Country Club Christian Church (6101 Ward Parkway, KC, MO, 64113.) This is where I got my start in critique groups.  It's a welcoming environment and great introduction to critique.
  • Writers United. Wednesday October 2nd from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the Carmack Room of The Jo. Co. Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212. If you want feedback, print a copy or two of your work so you can swap with another writer, or sign up for edits with the professional editors of the night.
  • Afterword Tavern & Shelves has started a grassroots writers' get together--monthly 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month (1834 Grand Blvd. KC, MO, 64108.)  If you go please let me know what it's like! I haven't been able to make it to one of their meet ups yet.
  • SAVE THE DATES November 14-17 Jo Co Library's Annual Writers' Conference is FREE. The full lineup can be found here.
