Happy New Year! We're so proud of the work everyone put in last year but it's time to make 2017 even better!

Even though you don't need to create a New Year's Resolution to make positive changes to your health and fitness, this time of year is a great time to think about long-term goals and what you want to accomplish in 2017. Then, use our monthly goals board in the gym to make smaller goals that will ultimately help you reach your bigger goal.

Small, obtainable goals (i.e., come to the gym 4 times a week) are much better than bigger, more general goals (i.e., lose 20 lbs.). You'll be able to stay more focused and feel like you're making progress a lot sooner. 

We're excited to see what's in store for 2017 and we'll be there for you in the gym every step of the way!
 

New Sign-in Contest! To reward consistency in the gym—the most important thing in reaching your fitness goals—we'll be giving away prizes to the person with the most CF Dashboard sign-ins in every month. You're already supposed to be using CF Dashboard to sign up for each class you attend, but now you can get rewarded for it :) Note: you must actually attend the classes you sign up for (and the coaches will be paying attention!) 

New Yankee Barbell WOD: We will be adding another workout option 3x per week in addition to the fitness and performance programming options. This will have to be done around class workouts, but will add some extra barbell/strength work for anyone who wants to add more strength focus to their workouts. Stay tuned!

New Yankee Endurance WOD: We will also be adding an endurance-based WOD several days a week to the existing programming. This is great for people looking to improve overall endurance, or those planning to compete in any endurance events like 5Ks, marathons or Triathalons. 

YCF Teens Class: We have an exciting new addition to our YCF kids program: a YCF Teens class! This class is for teens ages 13+ and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

The regular kids classes (Big Yanks) will stay at the same time (Tuesdays/Thursdays, 4:30pm-5:30pm) and will only be ages 8-12.

10am Wednesday Class is Back!: Starting this week (1/11), we're adding a 10am class back to the Wednesday schedule. 

Personal Training: Just a reminder that all the coaches at YCF also offer personal training sessions. This is ideal for people who want to work on certain skills or lifts. Talk to a coach if you're interested!

New Coach!: We're excited to officially announce that Katrina LaClair has joined the YCF coaching team! A familiar face around the gym—she's been training with our competitive team since last year—Katrina is not only a great athlete but an extremely experienced coach as well. Here's a little more about her. Let's welcome her (and her dog, Cooper) to the family!

Growing up, Katrina was a competitive dancer and acrobat. After high school, she traveled the country dancing professionally before deciding to become a dance teacher/choreographer. She also spent some time competing in Figure. In 2013, she tried CrossFit and was hooked immediately. Katrina earned her L1 certification shortly after and has been coaching ever since. A member of Yankee CrossFit's Regional team in 2016, her passion for CrossFit is unmatched, she is a true competitor and always has a smile on her face.
