Vision - Staff Transition

From Pastor Jamin:
For the past three and a half years, it has been Naomi’s and my pleasure to serve you here at AWC.  You have been with us through times of mourning and times of celebration. We appreciate all the deep relationships we have been able to build with you. We will cherish our memories of serving with you in ministry over the years. Especially Friday nights with all the laughs, tears, broken ping pong tables, and deep chats about God with our teenagers at Youth Group.

Last summer Pastor Evan informed me that my term as Assistant Pastor of AWC would be concluding at the end of June 2021.  As the Lead Pastor, all staff positions fall under his authority and it falls to him to decide if staff terms are renewed or concluded from year to year. He has made this decision with the support of the church Board, and while I don’t want to leave, I respect his decision. I want to make sure this transition is as easy as possible for everyone involved. Evan and I still have a good relationship, and during my remaining months on staff we will continue to focus on what is important: building God’s Kingdom here in Amherst.  That means staying unified and reaching the lost.

I don't know where my next journey is, so please pray God will make it clear to me.

Thank You

From Pastor Evan:
Jamin has done some great work here, and he has become part of our lives and our families.  I know that this news may come as a shock to many of you, and most, if not all of you have really appreciated Jamin’s love and care and knowledge.  Some of you here have reconnected with your faith because of Jamin, some of you began your faith journey because of Jamin, and some of you have seen loved ones engage with Christ because of him and his faithfulness.  And I want you to know that Jamin is not leaving because he is “giving up on you” or because he has done something dishonest, unethical, or wrong.

He has served AWC well over the past almost 4 years and helped us get where we are. This was a difficult decision to make, and I have spent years praying and thinking and discussing with the Board what our staff needs will be in the future, and where we are headed next.  Through that process it has become clear that we need someone with different strengths, skills and focus to help us get there. I have also become increasingly convinced that Jamin needs a different ministry environment and position to really thrive in his calling and gifts. It is my hope that this transition will both serve AWC well for the future and serve Jamin well in helping him find his next adventure where he will be able to fulfill his ministry calling to its full potential.

I believe we are on the edge of God doing something massive here!  It is our intention and hope to hire a new staff person in a full-time position to begin in July 2021, so please be praying for us to find the right person.  Please also be praying for Jamin and Naomi as they continue to search for their next position and continue to love them and support them.

Thank You
