Vision

Four years ago the members of AWC nominated and voted to give me an Extended Call here in Amherst. What that means is that they wanted to proceed with me as the Lead Pastor until the LBA or I decided there needed to be a change. It also means that every 4 years the LBA would meet with our District Superintendent do a review of me and my performance. This past Sunday the LBA met with our DS Peter Moore and unanimously voted to continue my Extended Call.

One of the things that came out of the review though was that they felt I needed to slow down a bit and be more accessible. As I did a personal review leading up to the meeting, I could see something very similar. I often get so focused on accomplishing the mission and next task that I end up missing the victories and don't give people time to process or talk through what is happening. So, in an effort to continue to grow personally, and as your Lead Pastor, I will be working to slow down and take more time to talk through changes and life with you.

I am mission driven, and that's not going to change. However, I also hope that if you have questions, thoughts, comments or suggestions, you would feel comfortable contacting me. We have a staff team and volunteer leaders that each bring special expertise to the table, but if you want to connect or chat with me about something, I want to make time, and enough time, for that to happen.

Celebrate Recovery
The God of the Bible, The Father, Son & Holy Spirit are THE higher power – the only one that can be in control.
Only 1/3 of people who attend Celebrate Recovery (CR) do so because of a chemical addiction, the rest are hurts and hang ups. Hurts: abuse, emotional, physical and sexual. Hang-ups: bitterness, anger, trust, do not measure up Habits: behaviours and addictions
You don’t need to hit rock bottom before starting recovery. The 8 principles are based on the beatitudes and the 12 steps flow out of the principles. Join us Tuesday nights, the doors open at 6:15 pm (starts at 6:30). Masks are required and physical distancing will be observed. You can register HERE or call the church at 902 667 9126.
