Here is an excerpt/snippet of a recent article from the Wesleyan Church by Michael Blue I thought would be encouraging for you this week:

The Bible tells us that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7), but too often giving feels like an  obligation–this can be just as true for pastors as for lay people. I believe there are many reasons why giving moves from joy to duty. Too often though it comes down to the reality that we haven’t been willing to give from a heart of love  and surrender. Moving into this heart of love and surrender sometimes takes intentional  work, but there is no greater joy than giving from a place of actual joy. Cameron Doolittle in  his book, Joy, Giving provides an approachable path from duty to joy in our giving. Here are  five Ps he offers to help us along the way:

  1. Purpose. How can you move your giving mindset from the temporal to the eternal? What motivates your giving?
  2. Principles. What principles do you use to guide how much you will give? Does your giving ever require you to  exercise faith?
  3. Passions. Where do you believe God wants you to use some of the resources He has entrusted to you? What passion of God burns most in you?
  4. PrayerDo you pray about the money you spend? Do you pray about the money you give?
  5. Partners.  How have you seen generosity lead to a deep love for someone in your life? Who can you invite into your giving journey to deepen your relationship with them?

Last Sunday's Message

The enemy really wants nothing good for us, in this life or the next. He is actually working hard to kill the good things in your life, kill you and kill those around you. He wants to see us in Hell. But God wants to save us and give us life, full life, good life! And He wants to give us that good life so we can do good things!

What We Learned:
Ephesians 2:1-10
God wants to fill you with life to do good things

Reminder Phrase:
Full Life

What's Happening

Sundays @ 9:30am Services (NEW)
Our Sunday service at 11am is filling up to the point that we are running out of room. Would you consider, if you are able and don't have children going to Konnect Kids at 11, switching to the 9:30am service? The more people who join us at 9:30, the more room we have for families and visitors at 11am.

Senior Volunteers (NEW)
We are relaunching out Seniors Ministry. Sharon Taylor has stepped up to lead the effort to minister to and reach the seniors of our community, and she is hard at work developing ideas, putting events together and recruiting a team of leaders! We still need lots of volunteers though, especially to run events. We need all sorts of volunteers to serve in lots of different ways. If you're willing to serve,  reach out to Sharon at 902-669-1330 (Mobile) and let her know!

Good Friday (NEW)
We have a special day planned for Good Friday, April 2nd! We will be holding our Good Friday service here at AWC at 6pm, and there will be a baptism taking place!
We will also be starting services at the Westchester Wesleyan Church on that day! Their Good Friday service will be at 11am!

We are planning a baptism for Good Friday, April 2nd, during the evening service. If you're interested in being baptized or would like more information about it, please contact us and let us know.

Easter Outreach & Invites!
This Easter we are encouraging and challenging all attenders of AWC to reach out to a person in their life who doesn't know Jesus. We will be providing you with invites and a how-to guide. We believe God is speaking to people already. We are praying to see at least fifty new people between Good Friday and Easter Sunday! With man it may not seem possible, but with God, all things are possible!

Membership Class
We will be holding a membership class on Saturday March 27th at 9:30am. If you're interested in becoming a member, or would like to know what being a member of AWC is all about, we hope that you will join us on March 27th!

Stronger Together and Emotional Intelligence Seminar
May 1st from 9am-Noon we will be holding our Stronger Together event, as well as a special seminar on Emotional Intelligence! More details will be available as the date approaches.

Konnect Kids
We are launching Konnect Kids again! Kids ages 2-12 can join the fun on Sundays on-site at AWC at 11am! Parents can register their kids when they register for the worship service!

Celebrate Recovery
The God of the Bible, The Father, Son & Holy Spirit are THE higher power – the only one that can be in control.
Only 1/3 of people who attend Celebrate Recovery (CR) do so because of a chemical addiction, the rest are hurts and hang ups. Hurts: abuse, emotional, physical and sexual. Hang-ups: bitterness, anger, trust, do not measure up Habits: behaviours and addictions
You don’t need to hit rock bottom before starting recovery. The 8 principles are based on the beatitudes and the 12 steps flow out of the principles. Join us Tuesday nights, the doors open at 6:15 pm (starts at 6:30). Masks are required and physical distancing will be observed. You can register HERE or call the church at 902 667 9126.

Did you know that you can do church wherever you are? We put together special content each week so you can do church at home! You can find our videos here!

Konnect Kids Online
If you've got kids, or grandkids, nieces or nephews, and you'd like them to grow in faith, character and wisdom, you might want to check out our online resources for kids!
