Vision

Welcome to 2021!
Interestingly, the problems of 2020 are still here, the imaginary time divide of years didn't change our circumstances. Yet, that also means that God is still at work, just as He was last year.

As we continue to go through this pandemic, here is a word from A.W. Tozer, written in 1955:

"The essence of spiritual worship is to love supremely, to trust confidently, to pray without ceasing and to seek to be Christ like and holy and to do all the good we can for Christ's sake. How impossible for anyone to hinder that kind of "practice." As soon as our normal churchgoing religion is interdicted by government decree or made for the time impossible by circumstances we can retire to the sanctuary of our own hearts and worship God acceptably till He sees fit to change the circumstances and allow us to resume the outward practice of our faith. But the fire has not gone out on the altar of our heart in the meantime and we have learned the sweet secret of submission and trust, a lesson we could not have learned any other way. If we find ourselves irked by external hindrances, be sure we are victims of our own self-will. Nothing can hinder the heart that is fully surrendered and quietly trusting, because nothing can hinder God." (Root of the Righteous, Chapter 37)

That was written long before our current circumstances, but was also written by someone who survived WWII.  It was true then, and it is true now. Let's continue to worship in spirit and in truth in 2021.

Last Sunday's Message

Far too often we have been looked at as young people, or looked at young people and thought, "how disappointing!" For one reason or another we think about those who are young and consider them incapable of doing anything right. But, when we look in God's Word we find a much different story, and I think we are still in that story!

What We Learned:
Jeremiah 1:5-10
God uses young people to do great things!

Reminder Phrase:
Young & Great

Celebrate Recovery
The God of the Bible, The Father, Son & Holy Spirit are THE higher power – the only one that can be in control.
Only 1/3 of people who attend Celebrate Recovery (CR) do so because of a chemical addiction, the rest are hurts and hang ups. Hurts: abuse, emotional, physical and sexual. Hang-ups: bitterness, anger, trust, do not measure up Habits: behaviours and addictions
You don’t need to hit rock bottom before starting recovery. The 8 principles are based on the beatitudes and the 12 steps flow out of the principles. Join us Tuesday nights, the doors open at 6:15 pm (starts at 6:30). Masks are required and physical distancing will be observed. You can register HERE or call the church at 902 667 9126.
