Broadening appraisal: Capturing the full impacts of transport investments
Many countries are fundamentally rethinking their transport policy and planning objectives. They are shifting the emphasis from mobility to accessibility, with a focus on equitable access for all. This Policy Brief examines what these ongoing shifts mean for transport project appraisal and planning processes. It summarises a recent ITF Roundtable Report, Broadening Transport Appraisal, which reviews trends in transport appraisal and discusses the implications of the shift towards accessibility.
The International Transport Forum at the OECD is an intergovernmental organisation with 64 member countries. It acts as a think tank for transport policy and organises the Annual Summit of transport ministers. ITF is the only global body that covers all transport modes. Read more
