Join Us for the Final Clark Street Crossroads Virtual Forum
January 19th, 2023

Dear Neighbor,

The Clark Street planning study is wrapping up but there are still some ways to get involved and share your final thoughts on Clark from Montrose to Foster! Commissioned by the City's Department of Planning & Development, this study, known as Clark Street Crossroads, examines residential and commercial market conditions to identify opportunities for new development, zoning enhancements, and public realm improvements.

A draft of the Clark Street Crossroads planning study is now available, and the City wants your thoughts on the vision for the future of the street between Montrose and Foster. Please take a moment to read the draft study, take the survey, and register for the January 31st public meeting at http://ClarkStreetCrossroads.com.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the virtual public meeting on Tuesday, January 31st at 5:00PM. Thank you so much to everyone for your active engagement in this process and for all of the questions, feedback, and ideas you have provided to make this planning study a success!

Best,

NORTH DUSABLE LAKE SHORE DRIVE REDEFINE THE DRIVE
PUBLIC MEETING TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2023

Over the course of 2022, the Redefine the Drive planning team has been:

  • Advancing Level 3 Screening for the remaining five corridor-wide alternatives. This involves assessing 25+ criteria corridor-wide for each alternative and ongoing coordination with Project Study Group members, CTA and Chicago Park District.
  • Coordinating with Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) on Travel Demand Model (TDM) projections for 2050 and incorporating these results into Level 3 Screening.
  •  Analyzing the public survey responses and Public Life Study results from the summer to incorporate placemaking elements into the corridor design.

Results from Level 3 Screening and the survey / Public Life Study will be provided at the next public meeting, anticipated to take place in Spring / Summer 2023.

It is recommended to review the 2021 community meeting materials and the Lakeview proposed improvements handout (March 2022) for the latest information. No further design modifications have been made to the Lakeview area since then. Once corridor-wide alternatives have been narrowed, the project team will continue to refine designs for specific locations incorporating additional public input. Comments can be provided at any time to info@ndlsd.org. The project team will provide an e-update in February 2023 and tentatively plans to hold the next public meeting in Spring / Summer 2023.
