Happening this week:

Pacific Pug Rescue is hosting a Pop-Up Art Show and I have donated a giclee print to help raise funds! The event has sold out, but you can still participate by bidding online.

"Pug Nap" is a portrait of Marlee, who came to us through pug rescue. She is my constant companion in the art studio.

By popular request, more fine art prints of "Pug Nap" will be available soon. In fact, they're at the printer's right now :)

I do so love Valentine's Day. It's no secret that I'm a romantic! So it seemed only appropriate to create a few pieces just for the occasion. "Grand Amore" and "From the Heart" are currently on exhibit at Spectacular Design in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon. They are both 6x6" oils.

Happening next week:

Oil Painting Classes in Portland at Village Gallery of the Arts

Tuesdays,  February 6th & 13th

I will demonstrate and work with students individually. This is a small group class and all skill levels are welcome!
Call the Gallery (503) 644-8001 to register.

If the group class doesn't work with your schedule, I'd be happy to have you to my studio for a private lesson instead!

A New Year's Resolution

Work with a live model every week.

There's an ineffable dynamic that occurs with a living, breathing, moving human figure that is both humbling and liberating. The time constraint creates an immediacy and confidence that is difficult to cultivate in the studio alone.

Most 3 hour sessions have 1 to 20 minute poses, others offer a single pose for artists to really sink their teeth into.

Fortunately, there are many opportunities to work with live figure models here in Portland. I've been posting my weekly creations on social media if you'd like to follow along...

Thank you for your continued interest in my work!
If you have a question, comment, or suggestion I'd love to hear from you :)

Artfully Yours,
Brooke Walker-Knoblich
