DOMINICAN FAMILIES,

This is always an especially good week to reflect on the countless blessings we have in our lives, a time to give thanks to our gracious Lord for the many gifts that surround us on a daily basis. We want to take this moment to thank each and every parent for choosing Dominican High School for your child’s faith-based education, we are honored to partner with you in this very important and impactful four-year journey. Thank you for making this school year so successful, thank you for your partnership in helping create a school community in which our mission is alive and present.

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving. May we all take time to prepare to enter into the Advent season as the Gospel calls us ~ to be people of love and peace.

Blessings from all of us at Dominican High School.

REDGEN RAISES AWARENESS FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE

Last week, our REDGen Mental Health Club organized a purple and jeans day and a bake sale to raise awareness for domestic abuse.  Purple is the color ribbon for domestic abuse awareness.  The bake sale raised more than $550, with all proceeds being donated to Advocates of Ozaukee, an organization that works to end domestic and sexual violence through education, prevention, and intervention services.

Dominican High School is one of 23 schools that participates in the REDGen Program, which stands for Resilience through Education for a new generation.  Its mission is to advocate for youth mental health and well-being.

CAMPUS MINISTRY

FRESHMEN RETREAT

On November 19, our freshmen volunteered out in the Milwaukee community as part of their freshmen retreat.  Some of the tasks the freshmen had included reading books to young children, cleaning up local parks, and putting together food boxes for families in need.

Each year in the uKnighted Service Program, our students focus on a different Pillar of Dominican Life. During freshman year, that focus is on the Pillar of Community.
