What’s in a Membership Name?

The Issue!
Villages around the U.S. with two levels of membership use various labels for those levels.

Here in Viva Village we want terms for our membership levels that are descriptive and precise.Viva Village Membership Levels

After deciding to call our membership levels “Members” and “Members Plus,” we now find it difficult to distinguish between the two levels without using a qualifier for "Members" (e.g. "basic" or "social"), resulting in awkwardness.

You can help us find a better way!
Come to the All Village Meeting
on June 11, and share your thoughts.

You can also send us your preferences and suggestions.

Ideas currently being considered.

For 1st Level Members:
  • Social Members
  • Basic Members
  • Community Members
  • Associate Members
  • Village Members
For 2nd Level Members:
  • Full Members
  • Service Members
  • Services Members

Beaverton Awareness Day
Beaverton Awareness DayViva Village, along with 49 other Beaverton-area nonprofit organizations gathered this past Saturday at the Beaverton Library.

Members of the Governing Council and other Village volunteers staffed our own table and stocked with maps, photos, and handouts shared our story with the many people that stopped by.

We also made good use of the opportunity to learn about and network with other great local nonprofits.

A very worthwhile morning—on many fronts!

Community Resources: Be part of a team to organize and catalog the information being collected about resources that already exist in the Beaverton area community.

The reason we are gathering this information is two-fold:
  1. to not duplicate existing services, and
  2. to use as reference and referral, if a member’s request is beyond what Viva Village can fulfill.

For efficiency, this information needs to be organized and easily accessible.

Crystal Springs – Rhododendron Garden: Field Tripspring blooms

A car-load of Viva Villagers took advantage of the blue skies and warm weather last Thursday to enjoy the beautiful rhodies and other flowers in the peaceful atmosphere of the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.Villagers enjoy view from the bridge

The ducks looked elegant swimming across the lake. The geese were well-behaved, keeping a (mostly) respectful distance. And duck trailsongbirds regaled us with their spring melodies.
