Village Update

General Meeting Report:
VV general meeting
Thank you to all who came to the Viva Village General Meeting on June 11. Your interest and enthusiasm help propel Viva Village towards launch!

Membership Terminology:
With the great input and feedback, the Governing Council has identified names for the membership levels that are descriptive and clear:
  • Full Service
  • Associate

Vision Statement:
Viva Village now has a Vision that is clear and concise, describing what we want to see happen:

"A community where older adults remain safely and confidently in their own homes as they age."
VV General meeting
This provides the focus for our mission statement, which tells how we plan to accomplish this.

Thank you to everyone who offered suggestions and shared preferences. You will likely see some of those words, phrases, and sentences on future marketing!

Vehicle Inspection/Check-Ride Volunteer

car graphicHelp certify our volunteer drivers. For this job you will need to complete the driver training, plus receive extra instruction on inspecting a driver's vehicle and conducting a check-ride. You would then perform these checks with the Viva Village volunteer driver applicants.

All training is provided by Ride Connection, which has partnered with Villages NW to certify that our Village drivers will safely transport members.

Nationwide, transportation is the most requested Village service, so this is crucial!

Tabling Volunteers — at Fitness Centers

VV tablingViva Village is connecting with Fitness centers to set up a table (particularly on yoga and swim class days) to share information about Viva Village.

Tabling volunteers are needed — hand out brochures and other information and talk to people about Viva Village.

Also, could you provide an introduction to your favorite fitness center so Viva Village can do a tabling event there?

Interested? Contact Kathe at
