The Manitoba chapter of CaGBC officially incorporated 15 years ago. This organization would eventually become Sustainable Building Manitoba. Celebrate 15 years of green building advocacy and community building with us!

Please join us on Wednesday, May 26th at 4:30 PM! Please register in advance, so we can confirm that we have quorum.

Enter through the Gather.Town space and say a quick hello to friends and colleagues you haven't seen in a while. Walk over to the AGM room and join Zoom for the AGM.

Enjoy a charcuterie board and wine ordered locally from DeLuca’s or whatever snacks and drink you prefer from home.

In Zoom we will run through our AGM business. This normally takes less than 30 minutes and is a great chance to meet our board of directors.

After the meeting, walk around Gather.Town for the chance to chat with our board and other attendees. Here, you can opt in to join facilitated discussions related to SBM’s objectives and help set our work on a path that reflects the views of the sustainable building community. Or you can just keep catching up with folks you have not gotten to mingle with for far too long.

Please note, that some firewalls do prevent Gather.Town from working, hence our use of Zoom for the AGM portion. Gather.Town works best on Chrome and if you are using a tablet or phone your camera may not work.

Our AGM is open to anyone, but only members have voting rights.

FUNDING FOR ENERGY ADVISORS

Earlier today, the Federal Government announced an investment of $10 million to help recruit and train energy advisors.

On the heels of the Feds announcing 1 million free home energy audits in 2020, a group of stakeholders, including SBM, mobilized to plan how Manitoba could meet the increased demand.

Manitoba is well-positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.

Building Sustainability Podcast - Biophilic Design
60:04 min

Biophilic design is a concept used within the building industry to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions. Used at both the building and city-scale, it is argued that this idea has health, environmental, and economic benefits for building occupants and urban environments, with few drawbacks. (Wikipedia)
