All Change!

Hello Friends!

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers as we keep on this journey!

It has been a challenging few months for us.  After Mr GLW started his police training at the end of July, we had summer holidays with three children at home.  This brought quite a lot of challenges for all of us.  I've written about those HERE.  The conclusion of this has meant that earlier in the week Mr GLW resigned from the police training.

Throughout August, Niece GLW's mental health deteriorated and she was unable to continue working in the outdoor activity centre.  After a great deal of stress and panic we miraculously found her a place to stay in Rotherham at Lighthouse Homes.  Her mood has stabilised since then and she is hoping to begin a college course next week.

So things have changed yet again!  We are grateful for the opportunity to try doing this differently and are vaguely apprehensive about what the next season of our life will look like.  I am beginning to look for freelance work again and am considering other options for ensuring we have enough money to survive and thrive as a family.  But overall we are trusting God for every step of the journey and know that He is with us in every aspect of our situation.
In the midst of so many changes, we have also seen some progression in various situations we've been dealing with.

We took Smaller GLW to see a paediatrician about his migraines earlier this month and they have said they are actually stress/tension head and stomach aches.  As a result of this we have developed an action plan with he school to hopefully reduce the stress he feels.  We have been considering a course of Neurofeedback which can be very successful in treating the issues he is struggling with, but this is not covered by the NHS.

Smallest GLW has settled more fully into our family now.  Niece GLW came home for a few days before moving to Rotherham and this was very traumatic for him, but he seems to have recovered from this now.  He began school on Monday and is really loving it.

We found someone to provide paid childcare for us, although now Mr GLW's finished his job, this isn't required as much, but we are still thankful for God's provision with that.  We've also been blessed by a couple of women at church who have offered to babysit for us, which is a massive help to us and enables Mr GLW and I to have some space and time together.  We're really praising God for that!

I begin a two year Masters in Integrative Theology with London School of Theology next week, which is really exciting, but also quite daunting as I have never been to university before!  It is an online course, which is great, but overall, attempting to do a Masters whilst also working freelance to provide for our family may be quite challenging!
Teen GLW's baptism was such a wonderful time.  The weather was beautiful and having the service and baptism on the beach enabled us to praise God in His awe-inspiring creation.
Things we would really appreciate prayer for:
  • Discerning whether to access Neurofeedback or other non-NHS treatments for Smaller GLW's health problems and for God's provision to be able to do that.
  • Mr GLW and I have wisdom in parenting all three children and deal sensitively with the complex dynamics between them and between us all.
  • Teen and Smaller GLW are able to deeply understand Smallest GLW's circumstances and grow in accepting him fully as a sibling.
  • God's provision as I seek to find freelance work, which also trying to balance studying, family life and the projects I do that are unpaid.
  • Protection.  It is spiritual powers and principalities that we are fighting and there are so many forces in opposition to what we are called to. Please intercede for us in the spiritual realms if that is your gift and call, we definitely need that!!
