1:00-4:00 pm (ET)
This 3-hour interactive session is designed to serve as a conversation as opposed to a lecture and it is divided into 4 components which includes time for Q&A to allow participants to engage with the content.
Trauma, Triggers, the Brain Reliving Trauma & Defining Trauma-Informed interventions
Empathy, Safety and Empowerment: Strategies for Becoming a Trauma-Informed practitioner
Cultural Humility as a Pathway to Accountability, Achieving Equity & Courageous Connection
Vicarious Trauma as an Occupational Hazard: Practising Collective Care Strategies and Inviting Vicarious Resilience into the Workplace
This training will be facilitated by Myrna McCallum and conducted virtually over zoom. Simultaneous interpretation (English and French) will be provided; however, the facilitator will be presenting in English.
***Please note that the facilitator requested that participants be ready to engage meaningfully in what can be a difficult topic, trauma. She will ask that, if possible, participants have their cameras on throughout the session for emotional safety. She also encourages participants to take 30-60 minutes following the session to debrief their experience, individually or with a trusted person.
