Dear Friend,

At the end of our first full year running Healthwatch Brent it has been time to take stock and to look forward to the year ahead. We are pleased to have directly heard the experiences of over 1000 local people. These voices have been included in a steady stream of reports going to the Health and Wellbeing Board and other boards and teams that plan and deliver your local health and care services.

The Year Looking Back

A year ago we said we would prioritise our work, and this is what we have done. Some of the issues we looked at were maternity services at Northwick Park Hospital, female genital mutilation, patient participation groups, views of children and young people with a focus on mental health and lots more. The Year Looking Forward

In the year ahead we plan to focus on the following areas; mental health, older people, accessible information standards, diabetes, dentistry, social care and lots more. To read the full report click here.

The Respite Grant is Ending - What Next?

We would like to hear your opinion on the changes to the respite grant if you are a carer in Brent. Brent Council, NHS Brent CCG, and Brent Carers Hub are jointly updating their strategy for carers and would like to hear your views.  Click here to read the full article.
Our newsletter is produced monthly so please visit our website for regular updates on Healthwatch and other Brent health and social care activities.

If you have any comments about your local services, please let us know by calling 020 8912 5831 or using our online form.

With best wishes
