Welcome to 'Wellbeing Matters' the newsletter from the Barnet Wellbeing Service.

Wellbeing Matters will bring you some fun and helpful ideas and articles to keep you cheerful, informed and full of new ideas during lockdown and beyond. We are currently revamping the Barnet Wellbeing Service website and we look forward to sharing the wide range of resources and information with you this month. Healthy Living in Barnet
It is 'No Smoking Day' this month on 11th March and with spring on the way, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle being shown to be ever more important during the pandemic; why not have a look at the One You website for lots of helpful ideas about looking after yourself
Vaccinations in Barnet and North Central London

The NHS are extending invites to book Covid vaccinations to those aged 55+ are clinically vulnerable, are a front line or social care workers or eligible for carer’s allowance. They can now book through the National Booking Centre or 119. Letters will be on their way to them, but they do not have to wait for a letter. Book online here.

Most of us haven't done much travelling in the past year, thanks to the pandemic. If you miss that experience, check out "Drive & Listen," an app that creates a virtual facsimile in 53 cities around the world. For each city, viewers can opt to listen to their choice of a couple different local radio stations, with or without the accompaniment of street noise. Have a look and get travelling!
Saracens Activities
Saracen’s Foundation continue to run a very active dance programme. The dance programmes are all inclusive and open to anyone of any age. Multiple classes run every day for free, Monday to Friday. Have a look at how to get involved here.

Food Banks in Barnet
Food Banks have been much needed over the last year and there has been some fantastic work in Barnet to coordinate and work together. Anyone can donate food, money or other items whether through the Trussell Trust or through individual food banks locally and it is one of the most direct ways of helping local people.
Learning and events from the British Library
The British Library are running a free online workshop for children aged 5+ and their families this month, along with offering many other activities for those with families and small children to keep entertained. You can explore more activities on their family webpages, from storytelling videos to craft and play ideas.

Making more of your daily walk
For many of us during lockdown, the main event of every day has become a walk or bike ride, which is the only time when we can really get some fresh air and take in everything around us. This article has some great ideas about how to make even more of your daily exercise.
