Wellbeing Matters

Welcome to the first newsletter from the Barnet Wellbeing Service.

Wellbeing Matters will bring you some fun and helpful information to keep you cheerful and full of new ideas during lockdown and beyond. We are currently revamping the Barnet Wellbeing Service website and we look forward to sharing the wide range of resources and information with you in March. You can see all of the great activities being run through the hub here on the Wellbeing Service website.
Bereavement Support:
The Covid Bereavement Support and Counselling Service is a free bereavement support and counselling service delivered by Mind in Barnet for adults struggling with losing someone since the start of the pandemic. This service is available to anyone who lives, works or studies in Barnet and the bereavement does not have to be Covid related.
Each newsletter, we will bring you 5 activities or ideas based upon the 5 Steps to Wellbeing...
Time to Talk Day

A small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference. Time to Talk day gets the nation talking about mental health, and we made sure to celebrate this on Thursday 4th February during Hub Connections. Now more than ever, conversations about mental health are so important. Have a look at the many resources from Time to Talk & download our presentation from Hub Connections last week - and together, we can end the mental health stigma.
Walk like a Penguin!
It is really important to be as active as we can this winter and get some fresh air. But scientists and NHS Trusts are reminding us all to ‘Walk Like a Penguin’ if we venture out onto icy pavements.
Would you like to support the vaccination effort in Barnet? There are lots of different volunteer roles in Barnet and North Central London that you can get involved with supporting the mass vaccination effort.
Listen & make your own audio books
Did you know there is a free website and app aiming to make all books in the public domain available, narrated by real people and distributed for free, in audio format on the internet. Librivox is a non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project which donates its recordings to the public domain and is powered by volunteers. Have a look; perhaps you would like to contribute a recording?
