Each newsletter, we will bring you 5 activities or ideas based upon the 5 Steps to Wellbeing...
Get writing and connect with new friends all over the world
When was the last time you received a hand-written letter? When was the last time you wrote one? For many of us, the art and pleasure of reading and writing letters is a lost one. What better way to take some time for yourself and make some new friends all over the globe by signing up to correspond with like-minded souls globally. Schemes such as #penpalooza and PenPal World give you the opportunity to correspond with new friends and connections.
Join North London Hospice Community Choir
North London Hospice are hosting a new online community choir which began in March and runs fortnightly with music therapist Abbie. The sessions are completely free, fun and commitment-free. Those joining can choose to sing, listen and take part as much or as little as they want. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together and share in the joy of song and community. Sessions are 45 minutes long and fortnightly. If you are interested, email Abbie for more details who will be able to share the joining details and next dates.
Do you have a local story to tell?
Barnet has a new newspaper! Barnet Post is a not-for-profit publication, written by and for local people: giving readers the chance to learn more about what is going on in their area and to read (and write) stories about what matters to them. Barnet Post is an inclusive platform aiming to reflect the diversity of the borough and support local communities to tell their own stories. They are always looking for contributions, so if you have a story, no matter how big or small, get in touch at barnetpost@socialspider.com
Activities and Classes for families
Community Focus Inclusive Arts is an Arts Centre based in Barnet. They run an exciting selection of creative and wellbeing courses & workshops for students with disabilities, autism and anyone who feels they may need extra support. They are based in Friern Barnet , North London and have free online Zoom classes and a video library that is available here.
Food and Nutrition
As Spring pops its head around the corner (April snow showers permitting!), many of us start thinking about new and fresh foods available to us. Taking the time to cook for ourselves and others is proven to improve our wellbeing and creativity. Barnet based organisation Bread’n’Butter have some simple recipes on their website that even the most basic chefs can try! Have a look at this article too, giving you some ideas of healthy and helpful foods to start your day right.

The NHS are inviting people aged 50 or older to book a life-saving Covid vaccine. If you're in this group, a frontline health & social care worker, carer, have a learning disability, are at 'moderate' or 'high' risk to #COVID19, you can book online here or call 119
