How many of us have been listening to even more podcasts and radio programmes this year? There are thousands of brilliant new shows available for free on our phones or through the computer to keep us entertained and informed. Here is a great list of some of the funnier new podcasts to keep you cheerful.
Activities and resources to support young people in Barnet

The Barnet Youth site has a huge amount of information and activities available for families and young people in Barnet from the very young to older teenagers. Here you will find a selection of tools and devices to engage young people within the home and also together via the resources we all have around us. Homeless Action Barnet (HAB)

HAB provide support for Barnet's most vulnerable people. In a standard week, around 250 people will seek support from the experienced team at HAB. Their clients receive a welcome, food and other practical support along with support to help overcome their issues and ultimately assist them in finding accommodation and their own independence. The team are always in need of items such as: new socks and underwear; toiletries that are sealed; full, sealed packets of dry, non-perishable food within their sell-by date and cleaning products. The Battle of Barnet and Barnet Museum

This Spring is a good time to learn about some of the great local history of Barnet. Barnet Museum is a free local history Museum run by volunteers. Although the doors are closed, the Museum volunteers are working hard remotely on local history projects. The Museum focuses on Chipping Barnet, East Barnet, New Barnet, Hadley and the surrounding districts. One current focus is the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Barnet and there are many events and activities going on to mark this important event and London’s only registered battlefield site!
Stress awareness month; from distress to de-stress

April is Stress awareness month and an opportune moment for us to reflect on how often we feel stressed and whether there are things we can do to reduce our stress levels. Stress is a physical response to events in our life and to how we are feeling. It can be a useful short-term state to help deal with busy or important moments but if we are stressed too often, it can really affect us negatively and be very detrimental to our health.  To find out more and see some great resources and tools for stress have a look here.
Vaccinations in Barnet and North Central London

The NHS are inviting people aged 45 or older to book a life-saving Covid vaccine. If you're in this group, a frontline health & social care worker, carer, have a learning disability, are at 'moderate' or 'high' risk to #COVID19, you can book online here or call 119.
