June 2017

Dear Friends,
We have been working with the NHS Brent CCG Engagement Officer to design and deliver a training session on conducting Equality Impact Assessments.
We are currently working with the new steering group on developing Central Middlesex Hospital to develop good practice in Engagement, Community involvement, and Co-production.
Our volunteers have been busy as always, including visiting another care home. We gave them a very well deserved celebration lunch during Volunteers' Week in June. If you want to get involved please contact Meena on Meena.Thakur@healthwatchbrent.co.uk or telephone Meena on 020 8912 5832.
In the next newsletter we will share our Annual Report and our plans for the year ahead.
And remember, if you want to make Your Voice Count – let us know about your experiences of Health and Social Care Services in Brent.  Please use the contact details below.

Changing the Way We Prescribe Medication in NW London

The NHS in North West London is asking the public their views on Choosing Wisely, a new scheme to help reduce waste. Doctors in the area have been looking at how we prescribe medicines and have come up with three proposals which will help reduce waste and give patients more control over their repeat prescriptions.

The NHS in NW London is proposing that it would be reasonable for most patients to buy certain medicines and products instead of having them prescribed.
Your views on this are very important and will be used to help with decision making.  Find out more and share your views now using the links below:
