Program 2021 Bulletin #8
Welcome to those who have recently joined the WWC Presenter mailing list. When Words Collide is a unique type of festival where everyone–organizers and presenters–volunteer their time and efforts to bring readers and writers together in a celebratory weekend. Without you, there would be no festival.
Schedule Finalization Target: June 15th
Please review the PDFs below to confirm your scheduled itinerary as well as see what is still available. Some session descriptions are TBA. Please provide us a description or updated session title as needed.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed the program after the last bulletin and provided your updated availability and panel discussion preferences. We did have to move a couple of sessions due to presenter availability. Please note that in the Itinerary PDF, lines in purple
indicate presenter confirmation while lines in blue
indicate we are still waiting for presenter confirmation. In 2 or 3 instances we had to move a session that was already confirmed, so these are now in blue instead of purple.
Could those who have not yet confirmed their itinerary, please do so. We need to finalize the schedule so that we can begin lining up moderators and ZOOM hosts. If you are overbooked and need to withdraw from sessions, please let us know so we can offer those spots to others.
We do still have some discussion panels with room for additional presenters. These are marked in the program descriptions PDF with yellow-highlighted question marks.
Note: All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). If your location during the festival is outside the Calgary, Alberta time zone, you will need to calculate your corresponding local time. For time zone help:

Shared Authors Table
The IFWA-sponsored Shared Authors Table is now ready to accept submissions by attending authors. Instruction can be found on the bottom of our registration page: https://www.whenwordscollide.org/Registration/
Saturday Night Rapid Readings
This session is now fully assigned. Readers are indicated in the itinerary. The session runs from 6-9 pm MDT with 12 readers, each having 15 minutes to use as they see fit. I.e. introduce themselves, introduce their story, and read. We would like to schedule readers from East to West. Please let us know where you will be (i.e. Ontario) to help us set the reading order. Thank you.
1 on 1 Sessions
Those scheduled for 1 on 1 sessions such as blue pencil, pitches, etc. can set their own schedule. We will collect during the month of July names and emails of those who wish a session with you and forward a limited number of them to you on August 1st. You can then email individuals to arrange a session that works for you. We recommend a time during the week prior to or following the festival. Use whatever medium you like for the sessions: phone, ZOOM, etc. If you require a ZOOM host, let us know so we can arrange one.
