Prayer Focus: Military

CONSIDER THIS

It isn't a random coincidence that April's prayer focus is the military, and the guest for the upcoming prayer breakfast has had first hand, active duty and deployment experience in the mission fields of the two branches of the U.S. military.  They say there are no atheists in foxholes, meaning God becomes very real when one is face-to-face with death.  The military may be just another job when stationed state-side, but when troops get deployed, everything changes.

But is the God of the Bible allowed in the public sector of military? Are men and women who hunger for the comfort of a loving Savior in the heat of active duty and uncertain safety encouraged?

The pressure on members of the military and veterans has increased drastically in recent years and may military chaplains are experiencing restrictions in their ability to openly share the Bible or it's message.  When the vulnerability of the population these chaplains are there to serve is considered, the implications are clear-- spiritual guidance is often withheld from the very people seeking such guidance.

Pray specifically for troops, the legal cases, each branch of the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard), veterans and for the spiritual strongholds in the military to be broken (Ephesians 6).
And don't forget to thank those who have served and their families for the religious freedoms most of us still enjoy!
