HBI extends our deepest gratitude to the community members and leaders who attended the El Paso Witness to Dignity & SolidarityNearly 1,000 residents, elected officials, interfaith leaders, migrants, law enforcement officers, DREAMers and advocates gathered to hear the testimony of, and pray with, 5 migrant brothers and sisters struggling with a broken immigration system.

We are overwhelmed with the response and are humbled by the deep solidarity shown to the migrant community, those struggling with poverty and our Muslim brothers and sisters. El Paso proved once again that our border community stands shoulder to shoulder, in solidarity as one and that we will not surrender to those who would deport and divide us.

It is our frontera's time to shape our own policies and draw on the faith traditions, hopes and needs of our own community as we move forward in this time of uncertainty.

We also thank El Paso Congressman Beto O'Rourke for hosting the DREAMers Community Meeting this weekend and convening so many members of our region in solidarity. Congressman O'Rourke and over 350 community members signed the HBI El Paso Dignity & Solidarity Petition at the gathering.
