Thailand is ready to welcome the world to Mekong Tourism Forum 2018
The 2018 Mekong Tourism Forum, hosted by the Thailand Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in partnership with the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO), the Provincial Government of Nakhon Phanom, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, is ready to welcome the world to Nakhon Phanom. But you might be asking: where is Nakhon Phanom?? Find out here.
Transforming Travel - Transforming Lives
“Transforming Travel – Transforming Lives” is more than just a new buzz word - but it might be a lofty conference theme. It is how travel can bring people and cultures together, changes mindsets, and transform lives. MTF 2018 is the first conference in Asia to tackle this important issue. The theme will be kicked off by Jeremy Smith, the author of the recent published book with the same title: "Transforming Travel". MTF 2018 delegates are entitled to a 30% discount of the book when registered for free.
A global first: Thematic Strategic Tourism Workshops conducted in Community-Based Villages
“Transforming Travel – Transforming Lives” by experimenting with a new conference theme of hosting the actual sessions together with the local communities in their ethnic villages, and have the local people participate and be part of the experience. That way, we believe the discussions can be enriched, and the experience be a memorable one. Don't miss the MTF 2018 Village Experience on June 29th, and get a free limited edition shirt produced by the eight villages: 8 strategy workshops in 8 traditional villages!
Buddhist Travel as new focus by Thailand Ministry of Tourism and Sports introduced at MTF 2018
There couldn't be a more ideal location than Nakhon Phanom in Thailand's Northeastern Province of Isaan to introduce the concept of Buddhist Travel in the GMS and ASEAN. The seminar on Buddhist Tourism will explore the power of transformative travel. As one of the fastest growing tourism segments in Asia, Buddhist Tourism not only draws international tourists into the GMS, but also boots domestic travel and contributes significantly to the local economies.  An line-up of experts, moderated by travel journalist Imtiaz Muqbil will discuss the topic.
