Hello everyone

Welcome to our spring e-newsletter for parents and service providers.

Springtime is ideal for outdoor activities - why not try:
  • a walk along the beach to talk about shells, driftwood, seaweed and sea birds
  • a picnic in one of our parks - how many different birds can you hear?
  • the local playground - where kids meet kids and parents meet parents
  • a new sport - there are lots to choose from
  • visit a playgroup to meet some new friends
  • a theatre or dance show or get creative with performing arts classes
  • at the end of the day, curl up with a book from your local library
Now's also the time to enrol kids in your local preschool or school
Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking feedback about the way it delivers services at Bandara Children’s Services, Eden Preschool, Eden Child Care Centre and Sapphire Mobile Preschool.

Parents and community members are invited to complete a short survey about what’s working well in these services, and what could be improved.

The survey takes 5 minutes to complete and is available online at:

$500 Start Up Grant

Bega Valley Family Day Care is looking for potential Educators in Bega, Candelo,Tathra & Eden. If you enjoy caring for and teaching young children and you would like to run your own business, becoming a Family Day Care Educator might suit you. Educators are self employed and work independently with support, training and resources supplied by the Family Day Care Co-ordination Unit team.

Successful applicants must be over 18 and have or be willing to actively work towards their Certificate III in Children’s Services.

If you are interested in becoming an Educator call the Co-ordination Unit and we will send you a Prospective Educator Pack. Also, ask us about the $500 Start Up Grant which is available to assist Educators establishing their child care business.

Registration conditional on Working with Children clearances for applicants and all household members over 18 years.

Pearls Place is a community-based organisation located in Merimbula on the far south coast of NSW, Australia. We are staffed by volunteers and operate through donations.

Pearl's Place is a free social cafe open to all.
Open for lunch Wednesday 12.00 noon to 1.30pm

We are currently operating from
Pambula Town Hall
13 Quondola Street Pambula
(just north of the roundabout).

Our purpose is to aid those in need in our community, by providing free quality meals, food assistance, companionship, social support, and links to other helping bodies.

We are non-denominational, and Pearls Place is open to all in need.

commencing at 9:30 am on Friday 27 November 2015

at the Narooma Golf Club

where we will assemble with other organisations and members of the community and walk down to Nata Oval to ‘Stamp Out Violence’ by taking the White Ribbon oath.

There will be displays from government and community organisations as well as a free barbecue lunch.
