As part of Carers Week, Shared Care Scotland is hosting two short break Q&A events covering "Everything you wanted to know about short breaks but didn’t know who to ask"

Join the session on Tuesday 8 June between 1:30pm and 2:30pm, or on Thursday 10 June between 11am and 12pm, for a coffee and a chat.

Carers Week Activities
We are hosting a range of virtual activities for carers to take part in during Carers Week 2021. It is vital at this time that you continue to take care of yourself and stay connected with others. Take a look at what we have on offer below and book a place on any of the activities that interest you. It may also be the ideal opportunity for you to try something new.

Coming Up - Tuesday 08 June 2021

Introduction to Mindfulness

Join Martin for an introduction to some simple, scientifically proven techniques which will have a real impact on your well-being - ideal if it’s new to you or as a refresher. Over the hour, Martin will also lead you in a guided meditation so you can experience deep relaxation for yourself.

You’ll receive a booklet “An Introduction to Mindfulness” which has all the info you need to fully understand mindfulness, two short videos with hints and tips and a handy audio to lead you in an expertly guided practice to help you relax and unwind whenever you need to.

Dementia: Carers Education

This is an information session for carers of people with dementia. It is based on research suggesting that information and skills training can be as helpful in reducing carer stress as counselling and support groups.Run in partnership with Alzheimer Scotland, the session is designed in complete consultation with the carers who will be attending, ensuring that the information provided is appropriate to their needs.

Being able to get your voice heard. For a carer this means speaking up for themselves and for the person they are caring for.
