Promoting decent work for Filipino fishers
The Philippines possesses very rich fishing grounds where approximately one million workers depend on as a source of income and livelihood. Government, workers and employers together with fisheries industry representatives hold regional consultations on decent work for fishers and ILO Convention No. 188 on the Work in Fishing in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in July to August 2015.

Leadership training for young trade union leaders
New and potential trade union leaders from Luzon participated in a Basic Leadership Training. The ILO in coordination with the Confederation of Independent Unions in the Public Sector (CIU-PS) and with the support of the ILO-Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Partnership Programme, equipped young trade union leaders with union organizing skills, trade union leadership and results oriented planning and collective bargaining.
