Behold! I'm one of the Portland-area authors with work featured in this forthcoming anthology, a tribute to the late, great Ursula K. Le Guin, from Forest Avenue Press. That beautiful cover is by Gigi Little, who also has a story in there.

As you know, <<First Name>>, Ursula co-taught the first formal writing workshop I ever attended, so I'm glad that I was able to contribute something to this project.

Dispatches from Anarres will be out on October 21st. Pre-order it now from an independent bookstore near you.

Meanwhile, on the Internet

I've accidentally booked myself for FOUR virtual events next month?! OOPS:

  • April 1st-4th - Norwescon 43 (registration required)
I'm moderating First Page Idol again, doing a reading, and speaking on panels about "Building Diverse Worlds in Sci-fi and Fantasy" and "Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy as Political Activism." See the full schedule!

  • April 8th - Puget Sound Sisters in Crime (members only)
Presenting the half-hour-long "good parts version" of my Query Letters That Work talk

  • April 10th - Cascade Writers workshop "Keep Your Wits About You!" (registration required, scholarships available)
In which I spend all day talking about writing funny stuff with my pal Randy Henderson and my agent Sam Morgan

  • April 16th-18th - Flights of Foundry (registration required)
I'll be paneling about "Professional Querying Practices" and "What Puzzles in Games Do." More info here!
