It's quiet uptown (in the greatest rainforest in the world)

Hello friends! I've recently returned from a writing retreat, where I was quite productive and had the chance to safely socialize (masked and/or outdoors) with fully vaxxed fellow writers. It was a wonderful getaway, but now I'm happy to get back to work in the real world.

Speaking of the World...

OPB's Think Out Loud recently included me on a segment about Forest Avenue Press' DISPATCHES FROM ANARRES"Anthology features stories inspired by Ursula Le Guin"

Also on the show were Susan DeFreitas (editor of the anthology) and Rachael K. Jones (author of "The Night Bazaar for Women Becoming Reptiles"), who said a lot of great stuff including the pull quote above.

Speaking of Unsafe Things...

Early last week, the much-delayed anthology ALIENS VS. PREDATORS: ULTIMATE PREY finally hit bookstores, and there's an audio version, too! In addition to my story "Better Luck to Borrow" (in which a disabled teenage girl fucks up some Xenomorphs WITH SCIENCE), AVP:UP includes originals by the likes of Delilah S. Dawson, Mira Grant (a.k.a. Seanan McGuire), E.C. Myers, and more.

Speaking of Seanan McGuire...

On March 20th, Clarion West is running their third annual Speculative Fiction Trivia Night. I've stepped down as emcee this year to be a team captain instead, which means you'll have to endure less staring at my mug but can still have the satisfaction of feeling superior—especially if you join my team for just $15 (cheap!) to make up for my woeful lack of deep genre knowledge. (Sadly, they can't all be Star Trek questions.)
