At this point I'm not sure if any of my planned travel for the rest of the year will actually happen. It would be a shame if I didn't get to go to the Nebulas or Cascade Writers or CoNZealand, but it's more important to keep people safe and slow the spread of COVID-19.
My daily routine hasn't changed all that much; I've been working from home for the last decade anyway, but not having the option to go out and socialize with other writers and freelance creatives is a bit of a bummer. Right now I'm in a "virtual write-in" with half a dozen other folks, and it's... different. Having decent video conferencing technology available for free or cheap is great, but it's still no substitute for face-to-face interactions. I suspect we're all going to learn a lot about our personal preferences and limitations.
But we will get through this. And we can help each other through it. No matter what happens, remember: this, too, shall pass.
