It Is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. We encourage parents and students to find ways to express their gratitude to our amazing teachers and staff!

Survey: Our new principal, Blake Rhyne is asking the parent community to fill out a survey, with the goal of collecting various concerns and hopes for the future.

Bike/Walk to School Day has been postponed to Wed., May 15. We will be meeting at Brookside Park, on the corner of Brookside Blvd. and 56th Street, by the baseball diamond at 7:45 am. All students may wear their spirit-wear that day.

Field Day Fun Day will be Thurs. May 23. We will need lots of help to make this day a success. Contact Kristin Hocker if you'd like to help out.

Last day of school for students is Tues., June 4. This will be a half-day, releasing at 11:40 a.m.

Dental Screenings: Students will participate in the MO Oral Health Preventive Services Program on Fri., May 24. This program includes a dental screening by a dentist or dental hygienist, oral health education, home care supplies, and FREE fluoride varnish treatments (for students with parental consent). Please consider donating a few hours of your time to help with this event. Parent and community volunteers can help apply fluoride varnish (requires a brief online training), record data for screeners, organize and distribute home care supplies, and help direct student flow to maximize efficiency. Sign up to help HERE.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT MATTERS

Our final PTA meeting of the year will be on Thurs., May 16. Dinner and childcare (ages 3 and up) are provided. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will begin at 6 pm. Please RSVP HERE! PTA meetings are open to the entire school body. In an effort to decrease waste, we encourage families to bring their own dishes and napkins. The PTA Executive Board elections will occur next week. We have several vacancies for both officers and committee chairs. If you're interested in a leadership position, contact Tim Hill to let us know how you wish to help.

Thank you Jen Wolfsie and everyone who helped out at our Art Fair Parking Fundraiser. We raised around $7800!

A huge thank you goes to Tanesha Thompson, Lexie Hanks, and the Teacher Appreciation Committee! These amazing ladies planned a whole week of fun activities and surprises for our wonderful BSM teachers and staff. You are both so creative, fun, and thoughtful!  Thanks so much for sharing your gifts with our community.
