Hello Fresno State Faculty,

As we near the end of this challenging semester, so many questions remain unanswered regarding the upcoming academic year. Please know that our CFE team is working tirelessly, with input from various faculty committees on campus to create meaningful opportunities for professional development and support this summer. This has been a challenging time for all of us and we encourage you to review some of the faculty best practices of virtual instruction shared during our last Provost forum. It is evident, now more than ever, that faculty commitment to engaging with all of our students is critical to their success. Stories have been shared of faculty checking in on students in a variety of ways including phone calls, one on one consultations, Zoom sessions, Google Hangouts, and even "snailmail". Please continue to communicate and support our students in ways that are consistent and transparent. You can reach out to either of us directly with your ideas on how to support our faculty and our students as we move forward and create new pathways to achieve success.  Continued health and wellness as we approach final exams.

End of Semester Student Symposium

Planning is still underway for the end-of-semester student symposium, which is scheduled for Thursday May 7th through an online format using Zoom. There is still room for student participants, and faculty can still sign their students up to present. The goal of the event is to give students a culminating and socially engaging end-of-semester experience that allows them to share the extraordinary learning they were still able to achieve.  CSU Student Success Network

We are excited about this conference because it will be the first CSU wide conference on student success. Our theme this year is "Building a Student-Ready Campus: Shared Opportunities for Equity and Transformation." We are seeking proposals for hands-on, interactive, dynamic presentations that aim to equip attendees with actionable information, practical skills, and tangible applications for their home institutions. I am excited that President Castro is a big supporter of EdInsights and this conference.
