Teaching with Tech

Long Lecture?

At times information must be transmitted orally to a passive listening audience. But research has shown that after 10 to 20 minutes of continuous lecture, assimilation falls off rapidly. Break your lecture up with technology designed for the classroom.

SEL TIP of the Month

End each class or online module with a simple check out procedure. During this time, check on how students are feeling, what went well, and what they may need clarification or additional support on. Utilize a variety of methods to check out with students (e.g., survey, poll, whole class discussion, individual, reflection opportunity, exit ticket, or other student preferred method). Use this student check out input to reflect on/or refine your teaching.
