Just a reminder that the Japanese Studies Association of Australia Biennial Conference 2017 is calling for those interested to submit their research papers.

The Conference will be held at the University of Wollongong on 26-30 June 2017.

JAPAN IN AUSTRALIA

Japan in Australia 2016 Conference, held at the University of Queensland 25-27 November 2016,  is now calling for papers from Postgraduate students.

Submissions are welcome from postgraduate students at any stage of their degree. Students based outside Queensland will automatically be considered for a travel subsidy.

General Meeting

JSAA EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

Dear JSAA members,
 
We invite you to a short extraordinary general meeting at 9am on Monday 31st October, to be conducted online.
 
The purpose of the meeting is to have the 2014-2015 auditor’s report approved. The process will be short since the treasurer’s report, which was the basis for the auditor’s report of certification, was approved at the 2015 AGM.  The general meeting’s acceptance of the auditor’s report is required for the annual report to be sent to Canberra.
 
The meeting will be conducted online via ‘Zoom’.
 
Could you please respond to the JSAA secretary (emma.dalton@latrobe.edu.au) if you are able to attend this online. We will send you a Zoom invitation.

NIPPON FOUNDATION FELLOWS PROGRAM

The Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC), is calling for applications to The Nippon Foundation Fellows Program at the IUC for the academic year 2017-18. This program aims to provide the most promising students with the deep linguistic and cultural knowledge needed to become leaders in their fields, and to foster strong collegial bonds and intellectual exchange among them and with their IUC senpai.
