A Message from Pastor Kandace

March 14, 2019
Dear Friends,

Kandace

Dear friends;

Thanks for those who came to our discussion last Sunday about the General Conference results.  I had the chance to speak to two different Sunday School classes in addition to our gathering.  I have been encouraged by your continued interest in the future of the United Methodist Church, and your on-going commitment to maintaining the unity of the Spirit that we enjoy here at Saint Paul's. I know that I have said this before, but it bears repeating...this congregation has a gift in that it is part of who you are to disagree (sometimes passionately) on issues, AND YET you have internalized the reality that the United Methodist tent is a large tent, with 'plenty good room' for ALL PEOPLE who hold diverse understandings of things of life and faith.  Thank you for that good spirit!  I will keep you posted on the April decisions of the Council of Bishops relative to the General Conference vote - that group will be meeting after Easter.

In the meantime - let us use this Lenten season to redouble our efforts to reach out to all people and to love and welcome all to the Table of Christ.  I believe as we do that - as we live out our welcoming - our actions will speak much louder than words or institutional decisions.  Will you join me in committing to being a extravagantly welcoming church?

Don't forget that during the season of Lent we meet on Wednesday mornings in Sanders Hall for a time of devotion, prayer, communion and fellowship.  Please join us any Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m.  I hope to see you there one morning!

Blessings,
Kandace

ATTENTION - PLEASE NOTE

From the Board of Trustees - Courtyard construction has started!  For safety reasons, the only access to the sanctuary building is through the downstairs hallway door near the choir room, or through the two sanctuary narthex entrances.  Call the church office to let you in during the week.  Thank you for your patience.
