A Message from Pastor Kandace

June 6, 2019
Friends;

What a great Sunday we had this past week as we Celebrated the Spirit!  Our children did such an amazing job at the 11:00 a.m. service leading us in song and in the communion liturgy.  I just love the way they sing and the creativity that is being developed.  And, my guess is that many of them now have the communion liturgy memorized!  Beginning June 9, eleven of our youth will be heading down to the week- long FUMMWA (Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts) worship arts camp in Leesburg.  Several of our adults are leaders (Stephany Nystrand; Gaye Herndon; Kiersten Almond) and several adults are going as well.  I look forward to the ideas that they will bring back with them!

This Sunday is Pentecost (so wear red) where we celebrate the POWER of the Holy Spirit, especially in forming the early church and emboldening the early leaders of the church.  In what ways have you experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in your own life?

This week is Annual Conference – and several of our Saint Paul’s folks are there.  Would you pray for us please?  Here is the list of those folks attending this year…Fotena Zirps, Jim Cosper, Cara Fleischer, David and Susan Gill, Meg and Charlie Guyton, Raymond Pandley, Kandace Brooks, Becky Rokitowski.  We look forward to sharing our experiences with you when we return!

Thanks to Meg Guyton and Jan Cuddington for hosting the Open House at the new Associate Parsonage, and for all who stopped in to check it out.

Just a reminder that the BIBLE AND HUMAN SEXUALITY Class does not meet this week, as I will be in Lakeland.  We will resume on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:15 p.m.

May you be aware of the presence of God with you in all things this week,

Kandace

PLEASE NOTE
Our wonderful Children’s Minister, Jill Merryday, is currently on Family Medical Leave.  While Jill is gone, several folks will be pitching in to assist in order to keep our ministry going!  Jenni Cox, Morgan Holmes and Peggy Benton are helping out. Morgan is our new summer intern.  Please check with any of these amazing ladies if you have questions or need information.  Keep Jill and her family in your prayers!
