A Message from Pastor Kandace

February 7, 2019
Dear Friends,

Two things to share with you this week.

1.  There is a member of our church who is experiencing some real financial struggles, and needs our help.  If you would be willing to reach out with a gift card for gas or groceries, that assistance would be appreciated and of practical use.  If you can help out - would you bring your gift card on Sunday and place it in the offering plate?  Thanks in advance for your compassionate help.

2.  This Sunday at 12:15, immediately following our 11:00 a.m. service, we will have a called Charge Conference to receive a vote on the proposed sale of property.  Each member should have received a letter with the proposal and FAQ section.  All present members are eligible to vote on this issue, and I would encourage your participation in this process.  The vote will be taken in written form.
We continue our sermon series on the wonderful Both/And theology of John and Charles Wesley this week, and I look forward to being with you!

We need to deconstruct our beloved mosaic garden for just a few weeks while we deal with some water intrusion issues at the church.  The work will be done this Saturday, February 9 beginning at 9:00 a.m.  We will need lots of hands to help with this work - bring some gloves and a water bottle.  Rumors are there may be donuts....PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

A Disciple’s Path is an engaging approach to discipleship from a distinctly Wesleyan perspective. Whether used as an introduction for new members or a renewal course for existing members, the program guides individuals to take the next step in discipleship and become dynamic, engaged followers of Jesus Christ.

A Disciple’s Path will be offered at Saint Paul’s UMC beginning Wednesday February 13. An evening class will meet at 6:15 p.m. in Room 301 and a morning class will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Room 301. Childcare will be available so please RSVP when reserving your materials. Please call the church office to reserve your materials. Cost of materials is $12.00.

Sign up now for our Spring Camping Trip, March 22-24, at Georgia Veteran's State Park!  This weekend has been selected because it is the last weekend of Spring Break, and your family can extend your trip a day before or after!  Click here for more information and to reserve your site!  Great fun & fellowship planned for a wonderful weekend!!
Progress continues on Phase One of our MAKING ROOM Project.  We did run into two unexpected issues - termite infestation (which is now resolved) and a water intrusion issue that requires additional barriers to be installed to prevent future damage.  We will keep you posted on the progress.

This Sunday, February 10, we will have an opportunity to share with our faithful, loving congregation ~  our prayer hearts. All this week at Saint Paul's, kids/parents are invited to write their child's first names on a heart (or have them write their own name), and the hearts will be shared from a basket at the end of worship on Sunday. The Saint Paul's church family will receive a magnet heart to go on their refrigerator, as a reminder to say a prayer for the child all during the year.

Hearts will be available to decorate or just to write their child's name on throughout the week... to include all our ministries ... parents & kids during our Mommy & Me Music classes, Parent's Morning Out, SPARKS, MOPS, and our homeschool kids who meet at Saint Paul's, as well as all the kids of our church family. A basket of blank hearts will be in Sanders Hall entrance table too if you would like to prepare one for our congregation!

If you have any questions, or would like for me (Jill Merryday) to create a heart for your child or a special child in your life, please let me know.  You can email me here!
