A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PASTORS

February 13, 2020
Dear Friends;

Our series NEW PLACES FOR NEW PEOPLE is nearing its completion.  This Sunday, Pastor Becky will preach on the theme of ‘Making Room’ – have you heard that phrase before?  Four friends made room for one who was paralyzed so that they could encounter Jesus.  How is God leading us to remove barriers and do the same? Our series will conclude right before Lent, which begins with Ash Wednesday services (early morning in the chapel and evening in the sanctuary) on February 26, 2020.

I hope you will make plans to engage some or all of our Lenten activities this year.  We offer an early morning devotional time on Wednesday mornings at 6:30 a.m. in our chapel, with breakfast following.  NOTE:  I am still looking for individuals and/or classes who want to step forward and take a turn in the kitchen on Wednesday mornings!  On Wednesday evenings there are several opportunities for growth – Pastor Becky is offering a class on being a caring congregation; and there are family devotional opportunities that will be offered by our wonderful children’s ministry team.  Additionally, you can participate in making small mosaic leaves during Lent that will eventually be part of a larger community mural near the church.  In our Sunday sermon series, we will be exploring the various covenants, or promises, that God makes with us that allow us to walk together with God.  I am praying now that the season of Lent will be rich and fulfilling for you.

Let me remind you again of the Town Hall Meeting that will be held on Sunday, February 23 immediately following the 11:00 a.m. service.  This will be an important discussion of the current financial position of the church and plans for moving forward.  The members of the Governing Board will be leading this meeting.  Please make every effort to be in attendance.  We will not be live-streaming this event; but a summary email will be sent out following the meeting.

Who is God putting in your path this week to share with joy the good news of Jesus Christ?
