A Message from Pastor Kandace

January 31, 2019
Dear Friends,

On Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 12:15 p.m. we will hold a CHARGE CONFERENCE in the Sanctuary to receive an important update on the Making Room project and to vote on the following motion from the Governing Board:
To authorize Trustees to sell the Ferguson and Alzheimer’s properties to Elder Care Services, Inc. at appraised value, with the stipulation that Elder Care Services, Inc. utilize the property for their operations and provide the Alzheimer’s Project, Inc. with sufficient operating office space.  Sufficient space will be determined by the Alzheimer’s Project, Inc.

As you know, all present members of the church are eligible to vote, and we purposefully scheduled the conference during daylight hours.  Please attend if you are able.  Information sheets have been mailed out to the home addresses of all members, and will be available on Sunday morning as well.  Additionally, some members of the Trustees will be visiting Sunday School classes this week to answer any questions you may have.

I hope that our sermon series on the theology of John Wesley has been helpful for you to better understand the rich heritage from which we come.  I look forward to this Sunday as we continue the series and consider the ‘form’ and the ‘power’ of our faith.

Continue to keep our United Methodist Church in your prayers, and pray this week for Bishop Ken and Pam Carter as they mourn the death of Bishop Carter’s mother this week in Columbus, GA.

Blessings to each of you,

A Disciple’s Path is an engaging approach to discipleship from a distinctly Wesleyan perspective. Whether used as an introduction for new members or a renewal course for existing members, the program guides individuals to take the next step in discipleship and become dynamic, engaged followers of Jesus Christ.

A Disciple’s Path will be offered at Saint Paul’s UMC beginning Wednesday February 13.  An evening class will meet at 6:15 p.m. in Room 301 and a morning class will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Room 301.  Please call the church office to reserve your materials.  Cost of materials is $12.00

We are full, but starting a waiting list.  Click here for more info and to register now!

Sign up now for our Spring Camping Trip, March 22-24, at Georgia Veteran's State Park!  This weekend has been selected because it is the last weekend of Spring Break, and your family can extend your trip a day before or after!  Click here for more information and to reserve your site!  Great fun & fellowship planned for a wonderful weekend!!
Progress continues on Phase One of our MAKING ROOM Project.  We did run into two unexpected issues - termite infestation (which is now resolved) and a water intrusion issue that requires additional barriers to be installed to prevent future damage.  We will keep you posted on the progress.
Want to be a part of our Greeter Ministry?  We invite you to sign up to serve and welcome folks before worship services on Sunday mornings.  Super easy and fun to meet new friends. Click here to signup! Thank you!
