Psalm 18

This God—his way is perfect;
    the promise of the Lord proves true;
    he is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

31 For who is God except the Lord?
    And who is a rock besides our God?—
32 the God who girded me with strength,
    and made my way safe.
33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer,
    and set me secure on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for war,
    so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have given me the shield of your salvation,
    and your right hand has supported me;
    your help has made me great.
36 You gave me a wide place for my steps under me,
    and my feet did not slip.

Psalm 18:30-36

I need these words today – every single one of them.  Today I need to be reminded that God is perfect and faithful, and that the strength that I need to be all that I am created to be is from God.  The imagery of feet is particularly helpful today as I am preparing materials for our upcoming women’s retreat, which is themed after Walking with Jesus; and also preparing for our upcoming class A Disciple’s Path.  God has given to each of us a wide place for our steps so that our feet will not slip.  I am living into the wideness of this path – a path that has room for different people, different gifts, different perspectives - - and lots of grace and love.

A Disciple's Path is a 6 week course in discipleship with a Wesleyan perspective.  This class will be offered beginning Feb. 13 at both 9:00 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.  Call the church office if you would like to sign up for either class group!
