I will sing to the Lord as long as I live!

We'd love to see you and yours this Sunday!  In the morning we continue to hear Jesus's teaching that he is the Bread of Life, and then we meet him in Holy Communion.  The Eucharist will be said at 8am and sung at 10am, and everyone's welcome.

Later in the day, you're warmly invited to join us for Summer Songs of Praise at 6.30pm.  Afternoon tea will be served beforehand from 5.15pm in the Hall, with donations to Christian Aid.  Help to raise the roof as we enjoy singing some favourite hymns in this informal summer evening service.  Bring your friends!  (Evening Prayer will be said at 5pm.)
Drop-in and Play begins on Thursday 6 September and will run from 9.15 to 11.30am each Thursday in the Hall.  In this new project, we'll have free activities for pre-school children, refreshments, a sociable atmosphere, a place for young and old to meet together, and a welcome for everyone.  People can come for the whole morning or part of it.

If you can help once a month, either to make coffee or to oversee the children's activities, please let us know.

Everyone is welcome at the next planning meeting on Tuesday 21 August at 7.30pm in the Church Hall.

Thanks to our kind and willing helpers and generous supporters, we raised £203 for Drop-in and Play at Coffee & Chat last Saturday.  Click here to see some photos.
Attleborough's Patronal Festival will kick-start our new season on Sunday 9 September.  This is a great day in the parish calendar and a time of rejoicing for the whole Church Family.  The Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Jane Hedges, will be our guest preacher at the 10am Parish Eucharist.  Please join us for that celebration, and for the Festival Lunch afterwards.  Tickets for this two-course meal with wine go on sale this Sunday at £8 (u-16s £4): buy yours in church on Sunday or from the Church Office.
St Mary's Summer Fete last month was a brilliant day.  We were blessed with glorious weather and a successful and happy day with crowds of people.  MANY THANKS to everyone whose hard work made this possible.  At the moment the total raised stands at a magnificent £3783, a record and over £1000 up on last year.  Click here to see some photos from the day.

It's been great to see so many children in church so far this summer.  We've got Sunday Club Plus - supervised age-appropriate activities for children - at the back of the church during the 10am Parish Eucharist every Sunday this summer.  Of course children are also more than welcome to stay with parents and take part in the service.  Sunday Club resumes on Sunday 2 September.
This Wednesday, 15 August, we give thanks for the life, witness, example and prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The Eucharist will be celebrated at 10am, followed by coffee and Danish pastries. We'd love to see you there.
There are still some tickets left for Music by the Lake at Besthorpe Hall a fortnight today, Friday 24 August, at 6pm for 6.30pm.  Bring a picnic and enjoy live music in this beautiful setting.  Tickets £10 from the Church Office.  All proceeds to Besthorpe Church funds.
We're having a Day Pilgrimage from our parish to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on Saturday 22 September, leaving at 9.30am.  All are welcome to share in this day of spiritual renewal, prayer, rest and fellowship in a holy place.  The cost will be minimal - £11.30 for lunch, plus a little more for the cost of travel.  Sign up in church or email the Curate.  If you've not been to Walsingham before and are curious about it, take five minutes to watch this short video.
Yesterday the Church commemorated Mary Sumner, who founded the Mothers' Union in 1876 to support marriage & family life.  A good number of us gathered to celebrate the Eucharist, attended by members of our MU branch, and shared delicious refreshments afterwards.  In the sermon we thought about the instruction 'Let mutual love continue', and we remembered that as Christians at a time of rapid social change we're called not just to come to terms with a new world, but to build a new world.

We are committed to growth in discipleship, in service and in numbers. Our church aims to be a place of love, laughter and lots of prayer. You are welcome here.
