Pledge to pray: join us today

We're keeping a whole Day of Prayer in St Mary's today as part of the Thy Kingdom come season of prayer launched by our Archbishops.  As we prepare for the great Feast of Pentecost on Sunday, we join together with Christians around the world in praying for the coming of the Holy Spirit, for the mission and ministry of the Church, for God's blessing on our own Church Family here and for our growth in discipleship, in service and in numbers.

Please join us to pray today: in church if you possibly can, at home if not.  Except between 3.30 and 5.15 when Messy Church takes place, there'll be a relay of silent prayer in church all day.  Come and join the prayer, light a candle, reflect and seek the guidance and encouragement of the Holy Spirit.  We finish with the Holy Eucharist with hymns at 7.30pm and it would be lovely to see you at that.  The full programme is below.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful people!
Sunday 20 May is the Feast of Pentecost, the celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit.  We'll have a joyful celebration at the festival Parish Eucharist at 10am (with Sunday Club for children).  After the service, please join us for a Pentecost Picnic in the Rectory garden from 12 noon - the whole Church Family is invited.  Bring a rug or chairs and something to eat and drink.
This is Christian Aid Week, when we stand together with our brothers and sisters around the world.  We had a super coffee morning on Saturday which raised £289, and on Sunday there was an excellent fundraising lunch after the Parish Eucharist.  Click here to see some photos.
Parents and children: don't forget Messy Church takes place TODAY - Wednesday, 16 May from 3.45pm to 5.15pm in St Mary's.  All welcome: join us for food, crafts and worship.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tomorrow (Thursday) you have a choice!

Dr Tony Barker will be speaking on new housing, planning and a Christian response to it at an open meeting of the Deanery Synod at 7.30pm in East Harling Church (NR16 2NA).  This is obviously very relevant to us in Attleborough: all are welcome to attend.

Also at 7.30pm, MU2 meets at 4 Iris Close for wine and chat.  All are welcome at this monthly evening group which fosters friendship and support among the mothers of our Church Family.
This Friday our young people in Year 3 and above are invited to Friday Fun Club in the Hall from 4.30pm for food, games and chat.  Let Marion Dawe or the Church Office know if you’re planning to attend.
Corpus Christi – the festival in thanksgiving for the Eucharist – falls on Thursday 31 May.  We'll be celebrating with a Sung Eucharist with the choir at 7.30pm, followed by drinks and strawberries (on the lawn if fine).  Bring your friends.  There'll also be a said Eucharist at 10am.
