This Week at the Latino Academy of Workforce Development
Latino Academy Annual Picnic and Career Fair
The Latino Academy's Annual Picnic and Career Fair was held on Saturday, September 26th at Elver Park. The Annual Picnic was a great success with more than 300 attendees. The Latino Academy would like to thank the volunteers, students, and employers who came out to celebrate the 4th year of the Latino Academy.

A special thank you to Chelo Rios, Grupo Folklorico Mexicano Zihua, and Abuelos Mexican Restaurant for providing entertainment and food for the event.
Thank you to the employers who supported the Career Fair
Thank you to the following employers and community partners who attended the career fair and who have demonstrated a willingness to reach out to and support the Latino Community.

Abuelos, American Girl, Attic Angel, Badger Bus, Bright Star Care, Environment Control, Epic, Home Depot, QTI, North American Mechanical, OSHA, Skyline Services Inc, Stevens Construction, Uniek, Willy Street Coop, Workers Rights Center, TASC, Two Men and a Truck, and Sears.

"I thought the event was wonderful—lots of interested applicants, festive, and well-organized."

"I thought Saturday was a great event for the Latino community.  I spoke with a handful of candidates who took information to pass along to other family members/friends. "

Thank you to the more than 300 Latino Academy students, family members, and friends who attended the Annual Picnic and Career fair. The Latino Academy had a great time celebrating your accomplishments and success. We are proud of our students and all that they have learned and accomplished during their time as part of the Latino Academy community.

This was a great event and we look forward to seeing you at the Latino Academy.

Volunteers keep the Latino Academy strong. Thank you to the volunteers who helped with our annual picnic this saturday, Cecilia, Juan, Maria, Ryan, Maria, Isaac, Marjorie, Meghan, and Greg. We have a number of different volunteer opportunities for members of the community, including those who are just learning Spanish or those who are fluent in the language. We will help you find the volunteer role that is right for you.

Latino Academy Continues Fall Enrollment
Enrollment for the Latino Academy's fall courses is in progress. The new, larger course guide and substantial course offerings reflect the immense growth of the Latino Academy. The Latino Academy is proud of our growing ability to serve the community and the needs of the Latino population in Madison and Dane county.
